Study Abroad

Billing During Your Study Abroad Experience

Study abroad students are billed by, and will pay, the study abroad program or foreign university directly for study abroad fees. If receiving financial aid, students should work with their Financial Aid Office to arrange payment to their program.

Student Services Fees

Study abroad students are charged the Student Services Fee on their student account for each term abroad. This fee cannot be waived.

Health Insurance While Studying Abroad

All study abroad students are automatically charged for the Harvard University Student Health Program. This program has two parts: the Student Health Fee and the Student Health Insurance Plan. Study abroad students are eligible to waive the Student Health Fee. If students have comparable coverage, they may also apply to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan. A separate online waiver must be submitted for each part of the program. If the waiver is approved, the term bill for the semester abroad will be adjusted accordingly.
