# Harvard Kennedy School of Government ## expand\_more **Instructions** The Admissions and Aid Office is responsible for collecting and tracking funding information for all students. All students receiving any financial support from an external agency, foundation, organization, employer, or government MUST complete the [Outside Award Form](https://admissions.hks.harvard.edu/apply/form?id=fcdba02c-42f1-4682-800a-46b027f31911). If the outside organization requires an invoice from Harvard, students must attach a signed letter from your third-party sponsor, on company letterhead, verifying the parameters of your sponsor’s payment within that form. Please review the [Third-Party Billing Letter Guidelines](/third-party-billing-letter-guidelines) to ensure that your letter includes all the required information. After the student submits the Outside Award Form with the letter, the representative from the organization will be sent a Third-Party Contract Form to complete as well If you are receiving funding from multiple sources, separate forms for each source must be received. **Special Note** Having a sponsor does not relieve the student of their financial obligations to the University. If the sponsor fails to pay any amount for any reason, the student will remain responsible for paying their bill to the University. **Suggested Deadlines** Please be sure that your third-party payer submits their form, and you submit the Outside Award Form, no later than June 15th for fall term and November 15th for spring term. These deadlines concern financial clearance for registration only. If you complete the Outside Award Form and your sponsor completes the Third Party Contract Form by the deadline, you will be granted financial clearance for registration equal to the amount of your third-party payer's contribution. We can only send bills for the current semester and cannot bill retroactively for a previous semester. **Student Health Insurance** You will be automatically charged for the Student Health Insurance Plan at the beginning of each academic year.
