International Refund Request
International Refund Process with Flywire
If you do not have a U.S.-based checking or savings account, you may choose to receive your student account refund by wire transfer through our trusted partner, Flywire. Please review the information below for details.
Please note: funds will be deposited into your account in your local currency, which may result in a loss of value due to currency exchange rates. Additionally, there may be bank fees outside of Harvard’s control that could be deducted from your refund, so the final amount received may differ from the USD amount shown in my.Harvard. Wire transfers may take up to two weeks to process.
Follow the steps below if you wish to continue with this process.
- You (the student) must confirm that you would like to proceed with this refund option by emailing our office at student_billing@harvard.edu with the subject line “International Refund Request,” your name, and Harvard ID number.
- Once your email address is confirmed, the Student Accounts Office will initiate the refund with our Student Account Operations Office and request a wire transfer on your behalf.
- A staff member from the Student Account Operations Office will then contact you at the email address from which you requested the refund to securely obtain your foreign banking details. The email will come from studentaccountoperations_fad@harvard.edu.
- After you securely provide your bank details, the Student Account Operations Office will initiate a wire transfer to your account.
